Shieling Away Day
A few weeks ago some of us spent a day at Ouseburn Farm to consider the direction of the group and what we want to focus on. Are we trying to do too much? Isn’t it better to do a few things well? Are we reflecting the wishes of the community? We considered growing food, the space around the MUGA, changes in Wretham place, to mention a few. Is there something that really excites or concerns you that you would like to be involved with. Please let us know. We want to work with members of Dwellbeing, and the wider community.

Community Wildflower Meadow
We had such a lovely time on 21st Feb enjoying litter picking, caring for our wildflower meadow, eating delicious food, and listening to wonderful live music. The atmosphere was warm and full of joy. We’re grateful to Cain from Wild Intrigue who shared advice about the meadow and everyone who turned up to lend a hand.

Neighbourhood Care Walkaround - Students Welcome!
On 21st March, when we get together for our monthly care walkaround, our student neighbours are invited to join us for a pop-up community welcome, from 12:30 until 2pm. Look out for a gazebo next to the Multi Use Games Area just off Napier Street! There will be refreshments and a chance to discover more about Shieldfield! Everyone is always welcome to help clean up and maintain our green spaces. This month we continue to focus on work to maintain the wildflower meadow. From 2-4pm our Community Chefs invite volunteers to join them in the Forum Café on Wretham Place for rewarding snacks.

Get Involved?
We welcome new members. No special experience is needed, just an interest in caring for Shieldfield. There are opportunities for gardeners, DIY-ers, writers, social media folk, artists, hosts, event planners, poster-makers, nature enthusiasts. Is there a skill you might bring? Our group is shaped by the people in it.
