You’re invited to join us to watch an unedited section from 100 People: A Portrait of Co-Existence, a film by Andrew Wilson made with and about the people of Shieldfield. It’s built from real conversations between neighbours, capturing the past, present, and everyday spirit of the place we share.
The finished film is only part of the story. There were many hours of incredibly rich material that didn’t make the final cut. These conversations are filled with stories about Shieldfield’s past and present, its changing make-up, and the ways we connect with one another. We hear about relationships built over years, the laughter and quick humour that’s part of everyday life here, and the challenges we’ve faced together. We see the spirit of collaboration that runs through the area, in small acts and shared efforts.
Watching together, we learn more about our local history, how we live alongside one another, and the spirit and resilience of people in the area. We notice how our stories overlap and how we see ourselves in relation to one another. Expect moments that make you laugh, moments that make you think, and moments that remind you how much we’re all connected.
While we watch, we’ll be noting down our thoughts and observations, adding them to our growing community archive. This is as much about recording the ongoing story of Shieldfield and its community as it is about watching it unfold on screen.
